Dr. Streff lives in Fenton, MI with his wife Marissa and their two young children. He spends most of his free time with his family, but can also be found going for long distance runs (zone 2), traveling, and learning to care for a "vintage" home built in the 1800s, which incessantly groans for maintenance.
He grew up in Grand Blanc, MI and then went to Olivet Nazarene University for undergrad where he majored in computer science with an emphasis on systems programming. Following graduation, he worked for several years in the D.C. area as a software engineer contractor with the defense department.
Eventually he became interested in medical research that focused on reversing and slowing the onset of diseases from which most Americans die—things like cancer, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. This, along with his passion of dietary and fitness interventions for disease prevention led him to pursue a career on the front lines as a primary care doctor where he felt he could effect the most change.
